Grandview Farm

Project Description

The property associated with this development was a 50.2-acre parcel historically known as Grandview Farm.  The land was used for various agricultural activities that included mink farming in the early 1900’s, a working farm and more recently growing and selling Christmas trees.  This unique parcel is surrounded on 3 sides by conservation land and a public golf course so it was important to take these features into consideration when developing the property.  The result was a cluster style subdivision with minimal pavement widths and nearly 28 acres of open space land deeded to a land conservancy.  This conservation land is contiguous with additional open space property where trails are maintained for passive enjoyment, such as hiking, bird watching, nature study, and photography.  Stormwater quality and management was achieved by the construction of 2 stormwater wetlands which have since matured to provide shelter and habitat for a thriving variety of species that are native to the property.
