Regency Heights

Project Description

Killingly Engineering working with Kenyon & Cutler Architects from Avon, CT, to provide an A-2 boundary survey, expanded parking, traffic routing plan, design of a gabion retaining wall to replace a failing concrete retaining wall and permitting assistance; this work was associated with an expansion of the Regency Heights elderly care facility.  As part of the interior construction, the work included the installation of a new elevator which resulted in unexpected excavation into the water table.  Killingly Engineering designed a water collection sump and a method to discharge from the lower basement area that did not interfere with the elevator mechanical systems.  The retaining wall and interior work was completed in 2012.
